'The Mindy Project' Season 2, Episode 4: 'Magic Morgan' Recap

Mindy cries in bed, listening to "Les Miserables" and ordering food, and being otherwise depressed and sad.

Going into her building, she trips on boxes of mail stacked up. She takes one accusingly to the owner, Cliff Gilbert, attorney at law, and threatens to sue him over the mail delivered on the step. He reminds her he could sue her for tampering with his mail. He schools her, legally. Disgruntled, she storms off.

Jeremy calls everyone around to tell them they're changing the name of the practice, since Schulman isn't there anymore. He reveals the new sign... which includes "Peerson" for Mindy's last name. Awkward, since she has to inform everyone she is not getting married. She takes her "heartache days," off work, but Jeremy reminds her she made those up.

Morgan wants to talk to Mindy about his love life. His ex, Vicki, just got engaged to a rich engineer. He notes that the minute he breaks up with a girl she falls in love with some guy and gets married.

Danny is trying to talk to a patient but loud chanting is distracting him. Peter is trying to do the cinnamon challenge. He spits it up on Danny's face.

Danny goes to Jeremy and tells him Peter has to go. Jeremy defends Peter, who he says has "the human touch."

Mindy drinks and mourns over pictures of Casey. She thinks the picture is talking to her.

There is a banging on the door. It's Morgan. He bursts in and brings her stuff for her bad day. He's sad too. Mindy remembers what she said about how his exes find the right man after sex with him... and she jumps on him.

Morgan fends her off with a chair, but Mindy attacks him, drunk. He finally wrangles her, but she pleads with him, and he agrees to have sex with her.

Peter is telling a story in the locker room, and has Danny stand in as Peter on a double date. He gropes Danny to demonstrate what happened, freaking Danny out.

Morgan lists off his sex rules as Mindy brushes her teeth. Her alcohol starts to wear off, and she goes out to put an end to it, and finds Morgan naked in her bed. She throws his clothes at him and tells him it was all a mistake.

Danny and Jeremy get Peter and fire him. Peter realizes maybe he shouldn't have been grabbing at Danny. Peter pleads for his job. Jeremy agrees he can have a second chance.

Morgan brings in the attorney from the beginning and threatens to sue Mindy. He says he will withdraw the charges if she takes him out on a nice date. Danny and Jeremy agree she needs to do this.

The man doctors monitor Mindy as she gets ready for her date. Danny tries to pick her an outfit, and grabs Casey's shirt. Mindy sobs. Peter comforts her surprisingly well.

Mindy goes out with Morgan, but stays on her phone mostly. He wants to try things over again, but Mindy gets mad. Morgan says they have to do dinner and then a "something" to make it a date, officially, so he drops the lawsuit.

Peter asks Jeremy and Danny if he can help out in the evening with all the stuff they don't want to do. Peter takes on the tub birth Danny doesn't want to do.

Mogan takes Mindy to his favorite place: the quarry. He shows her the echo, and how sometimes he yells at the rocks to get things off his chest. Mindy yells at the rocks that she misses Casey and she hates how she's feeling. Morgan reminds her she can't force herself to get over someone... but it will happen. Mindy throws her picture of Casey into the quarry. She kisses Morgan nicely on the lips.

The attorney gets into the elevator as Mindy and Morgan are going up. He notes that she looks better. Morgan claims again to be magic.
