'The Mindy Project' - Season 1, Episode 15 - 'Mindy's Minute'

Mindy does a women’s health minute where she wears a costume and sings to a sock. She and Danny watch it in the taxi, where it airs on taxi television. The taxi driver freaks out about her voice that he is forced to listen to all day.

Danny and Mindy get in the elevator with four pregnant women, all excited to go see the midwives. They wonder if they’re as handsome as they are in their ads.

Jeremy, Danny, and Mindy watch their commercials online, where the midwives Brendan and Duncan have a lovely commercial also starting Maria Menounos.

The team decide that they need to do something to bring more business in.

Betsy talks to a new hire, Beverly, who had sued for ageism and was hired back, She pretends to know what Betsy is saying about the computer.

Mindy reassures her patient Kelsey that she is perfectly healthy after another pregnancy issue. She is both a big worrier and extremely sarcastic.

Nick and Helen, who produce the channel 8 news, come in looking for Mindy. They loved her taxi cab spot. They explain to her that she scored a huge number in “pity” scores. They want to give her a slot on the news. Mindy thinks she’s getting enough pity at the moment and turns it down.

Morgan comes in to tell Mindy her video was on “Tosh.O.” As fat loser of the week. Mindy decides she needs redemption. She needs to ride out the humiliation. Mindy calls Helen and tells her she is in for the T.V. spot.

She tells everyone the news. Danny thinks it is a bad idea. He tells her she will look like a fool, and it will reflect bad on the practice. He will get her in shape.

Danny trains Mindy. First she loses the hand puppet, and he makes her practice which camera to look at.

Mindy is in makeup, reciting her speech before she goes on. Her patient Kelsey, the sarcastic hypochondriac calls. Mindy worries about her. She has more than an hour, so she goes to meet with her, despite Danny’s insistence that she stays.

Mindy reassures Kelsey that everything is fine, and goes to rush off although Kelsey says she is terrified. Mindy reluctantly comes back, waffling over whether she can stay or go. At the studio, Danny prays that Mindy will come back in time. She calls him and tells him she won’t make it. She tells him to do it.

Mindy puts the news on with Kelsey. Danny starts the speech but accidentally says “vagina.” He panics and knocks over the model. He ends up resorting to the sock puppet. It is a disaster.

The midwife commercial comes on directly after.

Beverly asks everyone for help learning the computer system. They try to teach her how to attach a file to an e-mail. Jeremy gets her e-mail, which is a dirty funny picture.

Danny apologizes to Mindy for messing up the television segment. They run into Brendan in the elevator, who is patronizing as usual. He asks why Mindy isn’t returning his texts and she tells him it’s because he’s a dick.

Mindy performs her segment with her puppet for everyone at work, and they adore it.
