'The Mindy Project': Season 1, Episode 22: 'Triathlon' Recap Danny’s ex-wife Christina is there.

Jeremy and Mindy go and introduce themselves, but Danny stops them. He asks why she is there—she got his letter.

Obviously he doesn’t know about the letter, since he never mailed it. He tells her he wrote it years ago. He doesn’t feel that way anymore.

She tells him deny it or not, he’ll come back to her.

Danny yells at his employees, and blames Mindy. Morgan admits he is the one who mailed it.

Danny fires him. Morgan whistles up his dog and leaves.

Mindy is trying to work out with Casey in the park but struggling. She has volunteered to take Morgan’s place in the work triathlon. Casey appreciates her commitment… and speaking of, he wants to talk about if they got married. He would want to be with a Christian woman. Mindy wants to think about it later.

New girl at work, Tamara, sings everything, and no one likes her. They miss Morgan.

Danny gets another letter from Christina, and he rips it up. He is going to work out and he demands Mindy and Jeremy go with him. He has it figured out—he just needs Mindy to a 12-minute mile in the triathlon.

The elevator opens. Morgan has been hired upstairs. He is the enemy now. AND competing for them in the triathlon.

Mindy asks Betsy for help about the decision to convert to Christianity. She arranges for Betsy to come over for a Bible study.

Christina runs into Mindy at the pizza truck. She admits she followed her. She asks for her help. She wants her to give him a letter. Mindy agrees to try and give it to Danny.

At Mindy’s, Betsy brings in her Bible study friends. They are a motley crew.

“It’s like ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in here. And like, none of the young hot ones.”

Betsy tells Mindy the story of how she became a Christian, after she first moved to New York. She gives Mindy a cross necklace.

At the triathlon, Danny and Brendan get competitive and fight. Danny calls Mindy demanding she get to the race, as Jeremy just started his stretch.

Mindy runs to find Casey at church. She tells him there’s no way in hell she can be a Christian. She says putting on the crucifix felt wrong. She tells him she is super into him, but she doesn’t think it’s cool of him to ask her to convert.

Danny is hurting. Brendan convinces him to let him stretch him out. He says it’s emotional pain—he needs to work out his issues with his ex. Mindy gets there, having run super fast. She pukes all over.

Danny decides to run the race against Morgan. He takes off in a Speedo and Mindy’s pink sneakers.

Casey shows up. He tells her not to convert. He realizes it’s not fair of him to ask her.

“If you care about me, you’ll kiss me even though I taste like puke.”

Brendan watches in annoyance as they make up and kiss.

Moments from the finish line, Danny collapses. Morgan goes back and carries him over the finish line. Brendan loses his temper, smacks Morgan and begins having a fit.

On a bench, Danny and Morgan talk. Danny says he should have mailed the letter years ago. They are about to make up, but Morgan feels his new loyalty to the midwives and rushes off.

Mindy gives Danny the letter. He smiles.

“I’m mad that I’m not mad anymore.”

Mindy goes off with Casey, and Danny calls his ex and invites her to coffee.
