'The Mindy Project': Season 1, Episode 23: 'Frat Party' Recap

Casey and Mindy attempt to shower together.

“Is this shower built for children or what?”

It doesn’t go well.

At work, the new girl who sings is annoying everyone. Mindy comes in with Katie, a pre-med student who is her protégé. Betsy tells Danny he made a mistake firing Morgan—all he did was get Danny’s wife back. Danny agrees to help get him back.

At lunch with Casey, he tells Mindy and Katie that he got the church to implement a long-term assistance program in Haiti. He is going for a year. Mindy is mad but Casey wants to try long distance. She tells him if he feels strongly, he should go. But they should not be together when he does.

The boys invite Morgan to lunch, but he comes with the Deslauriers. Morgan slips him an offer. Danny offers him a lot, but Morgan is going to stay with the Deslauriers.

Mindy sobs on the floor at her apartment, as Katie feeds her sour straws. Katie suggests they go out. She takes Mindy to a no-cups frat party.

Danny and Jeremy go to Morgan’s house to see him and ask him to come back again. They’re making changes… like a puppy for patient therapy. He stands firm; he likes the brothers. They make him feel like family. They invite him to the party Mindy has been tweeting them about, so they can all be closer.

At the party, Mindy is having a great time. She sees Tom, the man she almost married, who Katie says is an old loser who used to be in the frat in the ‘90’s. He has an eyebrow ring now, and tells Mindy his wife moved back to Serbia. The baby his wife had looked an awful lot like her ex-boyfriend.

Danny, Jeremy, and Morgan go to the party but have to tip the doorman to get in.

Mindy hears people chanting Katie, and finds her dancing on a pole. She becomes determined to get the pole down. She tries to pull it down but ends up looking like she’s dancing. She finally knocks it down.

“I dismantled this pole; this pole of repression.”

Katie yells at her. Tom invites Mindy to his house to do age-appropriate activities. She looks at his infected eyebrow ring, and drunk Casey comes in and sees. Casey punches Tom and a fight breaks out. Mindy gets shoved, and Morgan defends her. The guy’s brother comes over, and Danny punches him, defending his “brother” Morgan.

Morgan wants to come back to work. Katie and Mindy drag Casey outside. Both the girls apologize to each other and Casey pukes on himself.

At work Casey jumps into the elevator with Mindy. He tells her that she thinks he is going because he’s not serious about her, but it’s the opposite. He wants to be really serious with her, and he won’t have another chance to go away for a year when they get married and have a baby. They kiss.
