Mindy Kaling Talks Sexually Harassing Her Co-Stars
by Shannon KeirnanActress, comedienne, and all around funny girl Mindy Kaling opened up on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” and now we probably know a lot more about the mind behind “The Mindy Project” then we ever felt we needed to.
O’Brien asks her about being responsible for casting the men she gets to share love scenes with, which perked the lady right up.
“Oh yeah. That’s like why I did the show. No, it’s true.”
She then commiserates about the strange experiences of kissing for television verses real-life, and how easy, after a few takes, it can be to blur that.
“When I’ve kissed people… in my experience, I don’t do that that often where I’m not saying, like, ‘I love you,’ to them… so it’s very hard, I have to not say ‘I love you’ to like the actor that I’m doing that with because it really creeps them out.”
So what’s the big faux pas in Hollywood about filming kisses?
“You’re not supposed to use your tongue… sometimes, when you’re into it… it’s hard, right? You’re just kissing someone.”
Kaling laughs and jokes, “When I do it on the show now, it’s like the worst kind of sexual harassment, because I’m like, the boss. So you can’t complain, like they’re scared to complain. Because I’ll fire them.”
If you have seen “The Mindy Project,” you might wonder which hot actor she’s abusing with her tongue, because so far the men Mindy has gone out with haven’t exactly been swoon-inducing. Is this something to look forward to in the future?
And does someone need to start up an anonymous hotline where these "Mindy" actors can seek help?
