'The Millers' Canceled by CBS, Adding to Failed Comedies of Fall Season

'The Millers' Canceled by CBS, Adding to Failed Comedies of Fall Season Say bye-bye to "The Millers" everyone.

CBS has canceled the Will Arnett-lead sitcom just a couple of episodes into its second season. According to sources, production has shut down entirely.

The show was renewed at the end of last season over fellow freshman sitcom "The Crazy Ones," which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Wolk and the late Robin Williams.

However, "The Millers" languished in the ratings, recently posting a 1.5 in the demo with about 6.5 million total viewers, low numbers for the top-rated network.

In fact, "The Millers" is currently matching freshman CBS sitcom "The McCarthys" in ratings, a surprisingly weak showing for a second-year show with a relatively star-studded cast (which is filled out by Margo Martindale and Sean Hayes).

It's been a rough year for half-hour comedies thus far, as "A to Z" and "Bad Judge" were some of the first casualties of the 2014 Fall season, canceled by NBC about five episodes into their runs. Those two are completing their original episode orders, however; it's unknown whether "The Millers" will do the same.
