Miley Cyrus Claims Jennifer Lawrence Was Lying About Her Drunk Story
by Andy NeuenschwanderAttention, Internet: Your lord and savior Jennifer Lawrence might be a bit of a liar.
Circulating today was a video of Jennifer Lawrence talking in an intervew with Seth Myers about an incident that happened after this year's Oscars. The "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star claims that she was so drunk following the ceremony that she ended up puking on the steps at Madonna's after party.
According to Lawrence, she turned around after hurling to see another blonde starlet supposedly judging her. "I was in such bad condition," Lawrence said, "and I look behind me while I'm puking and Miley Cyrus is there like, 'Get it together.'"
Great story, right? Jennifer Lawrence, America's Sweetheart, got totally drunk and embarrassed herself so much that even professional embarrassment Miley Cyrus told her to pull herself together. Here's the thing, though: It probably never happened.
Oh No They Didn't reportedly snapped a screenshot of a tweet from Miley Cyrus herself, responding to the story on Twitter. In response to another user posing a link to the story, Miley apparently wrote, "that never happened."
The tweet was quickly deleted; but why? Did Miley decide that she didn't want to deal with backlash from Lawrence fans? Did she remember that it actually did happen? Or did she realize what many people have assumed for a while now, that Jennifer Lawrence embellishes her stories and, perhaps, her entire personality to enforce her image as the plucky, accident-prone, often embarrassed, quirky yet down-to-earth celebrity that people want/expect her to be?
We're guessing the latter.
To be fair to Lawrence, in her story she just implies that she interpreted Miley's expression to indicate a silent "get it together," and she doesn't say that Miley actually ever said that out loud. Still, one has to wonder if Miley was even there, or if Lawrence has used the fellow big-name celeb as the perfect cap to what would otherwise be a run-of-the-mill puking story.
Here's the video of Lawrence telling the story to Seth Myers, as well as the screenshot from ONTD:
