Mike Tyson Has a New Baby Boy, Set to Launch New Series on Pigeon Racing

Photo: Animal Planet Just weeks from the premiere of his new Animal Planet series on pigeon racing called “Taking on Tyson,” former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson announced the birth of a new baby boy. So far, the couple has not released the name.

RadarOnline.com reported that the boxer and wife Lahika Spicer Tyson brought a baby boy into the world Tuesday at a Las Vegas hospital. This is Tyson’s eighth child, and the second with his current wife Lahika.

The champ lost his seven-year-old daughter Exodus in a horrible accident in May of 2009, when she was unintentionally strangled to death while playing on a treadmill. Tyson was out of town at the time, and has stated that he was “devastated” by the incident.

In addition to his latest baby news, Tyson is set to release an upcoming Animal Planet documentary series on pigeon racing called "Taking on Tyson."

"I may have stopped fighting," said the champ in a release, "but I never stopped flying birds. It's my first love. I feel a great pride acting as an official representative for all the pigeon fanciers out there."

According to Animal Planet, in “Taking on Tyson,” “the former heavyweight champion of the world will take audiences inside the intensely competitive and bizarrely fascinating world of pigeon racing… The show will give audiences an insider's look at pigeon rearing and racing, a sport that is far from the mainstream.”

The 6 part documentary will premiere on Animal Planet March 6th.

Tyson will also be appearing as himself in “The Hangover 2,” reprising a brief appearance that helped to improve his tarnished image. No word yet on whether he’ll be singing “Sussudio.”
