Mike O'Malley (Kurt's Dad from 'Glee!') Cast in New FOX Pilot

PR Photos There probably isn't a soul alive (okay, a Gleek soul anyway) who wasn't completely floored when they saw the dramatic prowess of Mike O'Malley in his role as Burt Hummel on "Glee."

Who would have thought that the host of Nickelodeon's "Guts" would have it in him to command some of the best scenes in the one of the biggest shows on television?

People are starting to notice that Mike can act circles around most other actors his age, as he has been tapped to play the lead in a new FOX pilot titled "Family Album." The series, if it gets picked up, will show a different family vacation of O'Malley's father character in each episode.

There aren't too many other details about the show, but it's likely to be a half-hour single-camera comedy.

Gleeks need not worry about O'Malley leaving the show, though: he has stated very clearly that he loves "Glee" too much to leave of his own accord.

"This is one of the best parts I've ever had in my life. I don't want to leave it behind until it's run its course or the story has run its course," said O'Malley of his "Glee" role.

"I would not have taken this job, as much as I like 'Family Album,' if they prevented me from continuing as Burt Hummel."

As long as he stays on "Glee", I for one am excited to see O'Malley in any role out there that he can grab. The guy has some serious talent.
