'Mike & Molly' Recap, Season 4, Episode 18: 'Mike's Manifold Destiny'
by Shannon KeirnanMike and Molly are on their way to dinner when Mike's beloved but decrepit car breaks down on the side of the road.
Carl, Vince, and Samuel look at the car, but declare she is dead. It's time for a new one. Carl offers Mike a loan, but he refuses. Molly and Victoria offer to let him use their cars, and Joyce can give him rides. However as the girls talk it gets complicated...
Mike is going stir crazy on the couch, now that his car is gone and he can't access his freedom. Vince offers to let him use his car. However the list of rules for the car becomes too long and Mike decides to stay home.
Carl picks him up, and as they're driving, offers him a check. Mike refuses again, since he has friends to help him. Carl stops driving and insists he get out, or take the loan. Mike rips up the check and gets out of the car.
Mike goes to Peggy's, where she offers him her car which she rarely uses. He refuses, and picks up his childhood bike. As he rides off a car almost hits him.
Mike brings home his mom's car - his, now. He shows Molly but she is less than excited. She insists it's a "guilt-mobile." Peggy will hold it over him.
Mike takes the car on a pleasure cruise, and of course Peggy shows up at Molly's, demanding a ride to church. Molly accuses her of guilting Mike to get closer to him. Well, yeah, that's basically what's happening. Molly goes to call Mike.
Mike brings Peggy to bingo, where she insists he stay and spend time with her. Carl tells Mike he could just give the car back and take the loan. Mike says he's the big brother in their relationship, and he's supposed to take care of Carl, not the other way around. When Peggy comes over and is particularly horrible, Mike caves and agrees to take Carl's money.
He unfortunately uses the money to get a new engine for his car, but he's happy.
