Michael Jace of 'The Shield' Charged in Wife's Murder

Michael Jace of 'The Shield' Charged in Wife's Murder Tragedy struck in the Los Angeles home of Michael and April Jace this week.

Michael Jace, known for his role on "The Shield," has been charged with the murder of his wife, April, who was found dead in their home on Monday night. According to reports, police responded around 8:30pm on Monday when neighbors had reported sounds of gunshots. April, age 40, was found dead of gunshot wounds and Michael was immediately detained.

Later on, around 3:30am Tuesday morning, Michael was booked as the main suspect in the murder and is currently being held on $1 million bail.

Reports from the scene say that the couple's two children, both sons under the age of 10, were also in the home, however there is no mention of any other suspects present. There's also no word as to whether the boys or any of the neighbors witnessed the murder.

Somewhat ironically, Michael Jace has played a number of law enforcement officers in his television roles. In addition to his role as Julien Lowe on "The Shield," Jace also appeared in shows like "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "NYPD Blue" and "The Mentalist."
