Michael J. Fox Returning to TV, Starring in Own Sitcom

Michael J. Fox Returning to TV, Starring in Own Sitcom Michael J. Fox is making a big stir in the television scene, as he has begun shopping around a new sitcom for a potential return to TV in a starring role.

Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease back in 1991, has continued to find roles in shows like "Boston Legal," "Scrubs," "Rescue Me" and most recently "The Good Wife." Fox also made a terrific appearance in the last season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," playing himself and causing problems for Larry David.

His last starring, series regular role in a show, however, was in "Spin City," which ended in 2001. This new show would change that, as Fox has based it on his own life. THR is hazy on the details still, but it sounds like Fox is planning to star.

Fox is backed by some good people on the show, as "Arrested Development" and "Cougar Town" writer Sam Laybourne helped pen the script, while "Easy A" director Will Gluck is taking the helm, at least for the pilot. The show is produced by Sony Pictures Studios.

Word is that all the major networks are in a frenzy to pick up the show, so Fox should have his pick of which network to land with.
