Michael Clarke Duncan Had Wedding Planned Before Death
by Shannon KeirnanEven sadder news in about Michael Clarke Duncan in the wake of his recent death.
Sources are confirming that Duncan, who was engaged to reality star Omarose Manigault, who you might recognize from the early "Apprentice" seasons (yes, that Omarosa) had been planning to wed this January.
The two had recently begun to make arrangements for the wedding when Duncan suffered his heart attack in July, from which he never recovered. He remained hospitalized for about eight weeks until his tragic death last Monday. He was 54 years old.
Duncan and Manigault had kept their intentions away from the public eye, but friends and family were in on the planning process.
The two met in the produce section of Whole Foods two years ago, proving the theory that the grocery store is a great place to meet famous actors and reality stars.
“She’s absolutely devastated,” said Manigault’s spokeswoman, Priscilla Clarke. “They were planning to get married and start a family.”
Manigault found her man “unresponsive” on July 13th at around 2 a.m. She performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but Duncan was unable to recover from the massive heart attack.
“Manigault is grateful for all your prayers and asks for privacy at this time,” requested Duncan’s publicist.
The 6 foot 5 "Green Mile" actor weighed in at over 300 pounds and was recognized for having some serious muscle mass. Lately he had focused even more on his health, switching to a meat-free diet.
“Being a vegetarian was the best life choice I’ve ever made all natural, all organic!” he tweeted.
Thus the death of a great actor was a true surprise and a real tragedy.
He and that great smile will be missed. Our thoughts go out to Manigault and the rest of his family and friends at this time.
