Mel Gibson's Arresting Officer Slams Gary Oldman's Claim

Just to be clear, Gary Oldman, not all of us are so anti-PC.

The "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" actor is in hot water lately over a Playboy article (due out this month) in which he speaks out against... well, just about everyone.

That is except Mel Gibson and Alec Baldwin. Oldman makes sure to defend their infamous rants. Oldman goes so far as to call the officer who arrested Gibson for drunk driving in 2006 a "hypocrite."

"The policeman who arrested him has never used the word n****r or that f***ing Jew?"

Uh, no, says the officer, James Mee. Angered by the implication, he reached out to tell TMZ "I'm Jewish, and why would I say that to discredit my own religious makeup?"

Mee adds, "The N-word is a scary word. I would never dream of using it. It sickens me that anyone would use that word. Jews have been persecuted and put down over the years. Why would I, as a Jew, do that to other races?"

During his arrest Gibson famously made a series of anti-Semitic remarks, and claimed the Jews were "responsible for all the wars in the world."

He apologized for his "despicable" behavior, but the damage was done. Not in Oldman's eyes, however. He claims Mel "got drunk and said a few things."

"But we've all said those things," he adds.

Well, not officer Mee, and not a lot of other people, Oldman.

He has since apologized for his lengthy and controversial interview.

"Upon reading my comments in print - I see how insensitive they may be, and how they may indeed contribute to the furtherance of a false stereotype."

Is he forgiven?
