Megan Fox to Star in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Remake
by Zack WellsApparently, Michael Bay and Megan Fox smoothed over their rough history, as it was announced on Bay’s blog that Megan Fox will be playing the role of April O’Neil in the upcoming remake of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (currently titled “Ninja Turtles”).
Fox’s dislike of Bay and his work methods were made very well-known. She even alluded the director to be almost like Hitler. In an interview, she stated:
“He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it's endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he's a tyrant.”
Statements like that caused her to be replaced when Transformers 3 (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) rolled around. Bay had no reservations in firing her.
But it seems it’s all better now! She is set to play April O’Neil, who traditionally acts as an ally to the Ninja Turtles. It’s unknown at this time if the remake movie will focus on the original comics (which would have April O’Neil as a headstrong computer programmer/antiques shop owner), or if it will focus on the comics and other film adaptations (which would have April O’Neil as a headstrong news reporter).
