More Icons for Matthew Morrison: 'Glee' Star Will Sing With Sting

More Icons for Matthew Morrison: 'Glee' Star Will Sing With StingGlee’ star Matthew Morrison is like a pop icon magnet. First Gwyneth. Then Elton John…and now he’s got an upcoming gig with Sting.

Morrison confirms to EW.com that the final duet on his album is with Sting.

“I was honored that he agreed to do the duet and allow me to sing with him on one of his most incredible songs, 'Let Your Soul Be My Pilot,’” Morrison said.

At first, Morrison said he wanted to make his album more ‘Glee’-friendly. The original concept, full of popular songs catered towards a younger audience, has transformed into something else.

"I don't want to make a 'Glee' album," Morrison said. "I want to do something that's really personal to me."

In a Gannett interview, Morrison said that he doesn't expect the new album to be anywhere near as successful as music coming directly from the show.

"I know going into this that that won't be possible," Morrison said.

"There's going to be a lot of expectations for this album, you know. I'm in such a spotlight right now. ... I just want to do the best I can and just continue the growth."

The self-titled debut album releases next Tuesday. Morrison will start his solo tour June 18th in Minneapolis and end the tour in Los Angeles July 23rd.
