Matt LeBlanc Coming Back to 'Top Gear'
by EG
After the end of Matt LeBlanc's first season as host of the BBC's Top Gear, it was unclear whether or not the former Friends star would be back. He will be, we found out this week, and his second season of Top Gear will have to fit into a schedule already made complicated by LeBlanc's new comedy series on CBS.
LeBlanc debuted as co-host of Top Gear last season after the long-time host of the show, Jeremy Clarkson, was fired for getting into a physical altercation with one of the series' producers. LeBlanc, who had already served as an occasional contributor on the program, joined veteran British presenter Chris Evans for a revamped Top Gear last fall.
The new version of the show was a ratings disaster, and fans quickly turned on Evans as the main problem with the new format. There were rumors, too, of tension between Evans and LeBlanc, with some sources saying that LeBlanc told producers that he'd quit if Evans wasn't fired. LeBlanc's reps denied the rumors, but Evans was fired eventually, and now we get news that LeBlanc will, in fact, return for another go at the show.
LeBlanc will also star in a new sitcom, Man with a Plan, on CBS. That series debuts on October 24.
