Marvel's 'New Warriors' Coming to TV

Marvel Television is officially making the leap to comedy with New Warriors. The half-hour series received a 10-episode order at Freeform with plans to debut sometime in 2018, Marvel announced on Wednesday.
New Warriors will center on six young superheroes “on the opposite end of the spectrum of The Avengers” who live, work, and save the world together. Marvel confirmed Squirrel Girl (a.k.a. Doreen Green) to be one of the characters, described as “a totally empowering fan girl — tough, optimistic, and a natural leader.” With acrobatic prowess and the ability to talk to squirrels, “her most important trait is that she has faith in people and teaches them to believe in themselves.”
Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will executive-produce New Warriors. Additional crew and casting have yet to be announced.
