Marvel Unveils New Slate of Movies, Including Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Civil War

True Believers, contain your drool.

Marvel has announced their "phase 3" slate of movies, detailing all of their titles and release dates in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through 2018. Just judging from the titles alone, these movies are going to have serious implications for future stories in the Marvel universe.

For starters, there's the Civil War movie that is set to release in 2016. This film, based on the comics of the same name, will heavily feature Iron Man and Captain America as they take sides in a debate about superhero registration.

Later on down the line, there's the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" movies, which imply that Thanos (who made an appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy") will end up getting all six Infinity Stones and becoming the universe's greatest threat.

Those "Avengers" movies are slated for later down the line; in the meantime, there's some exciting news with a planned Black Panther movie and a Captain Marvel movie, which will bring some diversity to Marvel movies with solo films starring a female superhero and an African-American superhero.

There's also a sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy" coming up soon, as well as the solo "Doctor Strange" movie that is likely to star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Missing from the list is any kind of solo Hulk movie, which comes as sad news to Marvel fans who were hoping for a World War Hulk film. It may be that Marvel doesn't see that particular storyline fitting into the overall scheme.
