'Marry Me' Season 1, Episode 2: 'Move Me' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanJake and Annie are moving in together! Jake brings all his stuff over. However, Annie finds that she doesn't like having him in there, messing her apartment up. It stresses her out.
Over lunch with her dads she explains it, and they tell her as an only child, she wasn't taught to share her space well. They used to send her in the bathroom for 30 seconds when she needed to chill. Annie says she can't talk to Jake about it, since she was pushing for so long to get engaged and move in, and now she's the one flipping about it. Dennah comes in, worried because a teenage girl thought she was 40, but no one will listen to her.
At home, Jake has thrown out Annie's vacuum. She panics about the situation, and lies about going to get a new one. She hangs out in her car for a while, relaxing.
Gil, in an effort to do things his wife never let him do, is spending all day at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Jake talks with him about how Annie is being weird, and Gil points out that Jake burst into her home, and spent their first night together on the couch eating take-out. He talks about an "open eye cuddle" he saw on television, where couples stare into each others' eyes for 20 mins.
Jake cleans up the place and makes a nice dinner, and tries to do the open-eye cuddle with Annie, but after about a minute she freaks out and flees. She goes and spends more time in her car, really settling in.
Dennah can't seem to find anyone to talk to, so she goes to Gil, who suggests she get botox. Jake comes back to him but Gil is ready to admit he can't give good advice. Jake says he'll just try talking to Annie.
Annie is having a nice wine night in her car, parked outside now. She has put up curtains and is lounging in a silk robe. Dennah comes in, with an allergic reaction to her botox. Her dads come to find her, saying that Jake has called them and is worried about her. Everyone else minus Jake finds her and tells her to stop being silly and to go talk to him. She agrees, and gets out to go in the building and find him, but her wine bottle falls out of the front seat... in front of a cop.
She tries to explain to him that she was just hiding from her fiance, as Jake arrives and overhears. She tells him she's just scared, and he tells her that it's okay... it's her turn to freak out. She gets out of a DUI, as there is a cooler full of wine over the pedals.
Jake and Annie hang out for a romantic night in the car, getting comfortable with one another. Annie is happy to have him there.
