Mark Ruffalo Confirms: No Hulk Stand-Alone Movie... Yet

Although there has been a lot of talk lately about the possibility of a Hulk movie to spin off after Mark Ruffalo portrayed the temperamental hero in “The Avengers,” Ruffalo disappointed fans when he took to his Twitter to dispel rumors that there is  "Hulk" movie currently in the works.

“A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers2. No plans for stand alone,” he tweeted.

However, he added: “I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.”

Okay, okay. So obviously there will be no Hulk movie until “The Avengers 2” comes out… which won’t be until May 1st, 2015… but perhaps after?

Possibly. Ruffalo took once more to the site to clarify.

“Just to be totally clear. I did not say there was not going to ever be a stand alone Hulk film. I said there wasn’t one in the works now.”

The news comes as a big disappointment to many fans… interestingly enough, because while Ruffalo is generally considered to be the best actor to step into the large, large shoes of the angry green guy, initial response to his casting was not so welcoming.

“There was a lot of negative response to me playing that part early on, and I kind of liked that challenge,” Ruffalo has said.

What do you think? Did he beat out, for example, Edward Norton in "The Incredible Hulk?"

Are you disappointed by the news?
