Mariah Carey Says 'American Idol' was the Worst Experience of her Life

Mariah Carey Says 'American Idol' was the Worst Experience of her Life It doesn't sound like audiences will get a chance to see Mariah Carey back on "American Idol" anytime soon.

The singer opened up on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, calling her time judging on the singing competition "the worst experience of [her] life."

When the radio hosts asked if Carey would ever consider returning to "American Idol," Carey had a pretty definite response.

"Hell no! Absolutely not. That was the worst experience of my life."

She added, "I'm not going to get into what it was, but let's just say I don't think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool."

Obviously Carey is referencing the tension between herself and co-judge Nicki Minaj, which blew up into a reported diva "feud."

"It should have been more about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. I would never want to be involved with it again. But everybody else did like it."

Not only was the feud between Carey and Minaj a source of annoyance to the singer, Carey went on to say that the show itself was "boring."

"It's so boring and so fake. I'm sorry. When I say it's fake, I mean, I have to make up things to say about everybody. Half the time, the performances are good, you'll just be like, 'It was good.'"

Fox has renewed "American Idol" for its 15th and final season, which will feature celebrity judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr.
