'We Belong Together': Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Welcome Twins on an Extra Special Day

After Mariah Carey gave birth to two babies on Saturday, a spokeswoman reports Carey’s single “We Belong Together” was playing in the background.

The new son, weighing 5lbs, 6 oz. and the daughter weighing 5 lbs, 3 oz., belong to mommy, Carey, and husband Nick Cannon. The names of the newborns are unknown to the public.

The happy family was also celebrating the couple’s wedding anniversary (hence the love music).

“My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won’t ever be able to top this!” Cannon tweeted on Saturday.

Cannon apparently drove the couple to the hospital in his Rolls Royce, but got lost along the way and had to be directed to the maternity ward by hospital personnel.

"It was right out of an 'I Love Lucy' skit," said Carey.

During her curvaceous pregrancy, Carey enjoyed sharing the experience with her fans as she decorated her belly (as a butterfly) and even posed nude on the cover of the British magazine “Ok.”

The arrival of the twins inspired excited responses from celebrities like Nicki Minaj, who Tweeted:

"The twins have finally landed on earth!!! Yaaayyyyy!!!!! @MariahCarey mmmuuuuaaahhhh!!!!!!"
