'Magic Mike XXL' Actor Joins 'Empire'

Things are about to get even hotter on "Empire."

Adam Rodriguez, whose beautiful face and abs will be appearing alongside of Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello in this summer's "Magic Mike XXL," has just signed onto a recurring role for season 2 of "Empire."

Rodriguez will be playing a former EMT named Laz Delgago, now described as a "smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills." A native New Yorker, he will "take an interest" in Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

It's not the first time the two have worked together - both Rodriguez and Henson appeared in Tyler Perry's "I Can Do Bad All By Myself." Rodriguez has also appeared in "The Night Shift" and "CSI: Miami."

Season 1 left Cookie deciding whether she wanted to reunite with ex-husband Lucious (Terrence Howard), after he broke off his engagement with fiancee Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey), but it seemed like instead she would be moving on with Malcolm DeVeaux (Derek Luke), head of security for Empire Records.

Rodriguez will be joined by other guest stars in season 2, including musicians Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz, and comedian Chris Rock. Gabourey Sidibe and Ta'Rhonda Jones, who played Becky and Porsha during the first season, have also been elevated to series regulars.

The 18-episode season 2 will air in two parts, kicking off Wednesday, September 23rd at 9/8c. Will you be tuning in?
