'Mad Men' Honored With Los Angeles Conservancy Preservation Award

'Mad Men' Honored With Los Angeles Conservancy Preservation Award Yesterday we found out that while "Mad Men" had been green-lit for another season by AMC, sadly the show will be pushed back until 2012 due to contract negotiations. But amid the turmoil, the show got some good news: it will receive a Los Angeles Conservancy Preservation Award!

The Los Angeles Conservancy works to preserve and celebrate the history of Los Angeles, particularly in its architecture and historic sites. Each year, the organization hosts an awards luncheon to honor those who have worked in the field of historic preservation. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the awards.

The LA Conservancy will be honoring "Mad Men" with the media award for creating "an explosion of interest in all things 1960s, including architecture, bolstering efforts to save greater L.A.'s rich, yet highly vulnerable, legacy of sixties resources."

Of course, "Mad Men" is set in New York City, but it is filmed in Los Angeles and many of LA's historical sites and buildings from the 1960's are used during filming.

So congratulations, "Mad Men!" Now get back on the air quickly, I don't know how long I can go without you.
