Right from the get go you'll be laughing as you listen to an aging rocker sing about Christmas and mess up the lyrics so he starts cussing away about how idiotic the whole thing is.

The film follows several people including the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant), his new assistant, an American woman (Laura Linney) who can't focus on a relationship because of other obligations, a little boy who just lost his mother, a woman who finds her husband in an affair, a man in love with his best friend's new wife and many others. Some storylines are purely funny like the one following a couple young guys one of which goes to America to bed some chicks who will like his British accent. Some are charming such as the little boy who is determined to become part of a band to impress a girl at school. Some are heartbreaking such as Emma Thompson finding out her husband has been cheating on her and making her look like a fool. Some are complicated such as Hugh Grant falling for his assistant while all of his nation looks on.

The film encompasses all forms of love and it's just a delight to watch. Curl up on the coach with a warm blanket and get ready for a film filled with laughter and tears. It's sure to warm your heart and become a romantic favorite good to watch all year round.
