How Long Do You Think It'll Take for Miley Cyrus' New Dog to Die?

How Long Do You Think It'll Take for Miley Cyrus' New Dog to Die? Sit down, Miley Cyrus. We need to have an intervention.

No, no, not about the drugs. Do whatever you want with those, nobody cares.

We're talking about the dogs.

The former "Hannah Montana" star announced today via her PR outlet of choice, Instagram, that she has a new addition to the family: A dog named Emu.

"I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago," Cyrus wrote. "Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I'm weird like that. It's taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again. There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it's irreplaceable but that's not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand."

Floyd, if you're not up to speed on Cyrus' small rotating kennel of pets, was an Alaskan Klee Kai that Cyrus had up until a few months ago, when Floyd died under circumstances that Cyrus never fully revealed. Judging by comments from sources close to Cyrus, the rumor is that Floyd was killed by a coyote near Cyrus' Los Angeles home.

That isn't the only dog-related tragedy Cyrus has endured, either: Back in 2012, Cyrus' mom claimed that one of the dogs, Ziggy, attacked and killed one of her other dogs, Lila. Ziggy was later rehomed.

If it's starting to sound like maybe Miley doesn't pay close enough attention to her pets, you might be on to something. Miley has four other dogs—Bean, Penny Lane, Happy and Mary Jane—in addition to the recently adopted Emu. Back in April, shortly after Floyd's death, Cyrus adopted a small dog named Moonie, who was given away to another home within about a week. Because, whatever, dogs are collectible things that you can move around if it turns out you don't want them, and they're probably fine at home while you're out on international tours. It's not like they'll get eaten by coyotes or anything.

Anyway, best of lucky to Emu. You're gonna need it, buddy.
