London Officials Want Britney Spears to Apologize for Robbery

Britney Spears is in a bit of trouble with "the man" after she and her fiance robbed a store at gunpoint.

Of course, the gun was fake and the robbery was part of a shoot for her latest music video, but still the act has angered government officials in the Hackney borough of London enough that they want an apology from the pop star.

London was hit by some devastating riots recently, so the thought of violence and lawlessness is fresh in the minds of many residents. So when local officials found out that Spears was shooting a scene that involved her robbing a store and wielding a gun, they were upset: "In this case we did not agree that a replica gun could be used at Stoke Newington Town Hall and we are disappointed," said the Hackney council. "We will be raising this matter with the production company."

The council also demanded that Spears "apologize" for the video shoot and "make a sizable donation" to a charity that helps quell gang violence in the area.

Of course, if the council had bothered to learn that the song Spears was shooting the video for is titled "Criminal" and has the lyric, "He is a sucker with a gun, gun, gun, gun," they might have seen this coming.
