Lohan Rejects Plea, Jeweler Makes Bank

Lindsay Lohan has declined a plea deal that included jail time and three years of probation.

Los Angeles prosecutors confirmed to PEOPLE Wednesday that Lohan will go to trial in the felony grand theft case.

Lohan, if found guilty, could serve a maximum of three years in prison. She could face additional jail time if the charges are deemed a violation of her probation from a DUI incident.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 22.

As Lohan prepares for trial involving the alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace, others involved in the situation are racking up.

Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Kamofie & Co. sold the surveillance footage of Lohan to Entertainment Tonight for $40,000.

The necklace itself will be auctioned following the trial. Given the exposure, it could generate a hefty price tag.

In the spirit of good Karma, a spokesman from Kamofie, the designer/creator of the necklace, explained the money will go to charity.

“Sofia Kaman (designer) would rather the money go to help an appropriate charity, since at least that way some good can result from this incident,” Christopher Spencer reported.

The necklace is currently being held as evidence by the Los Angelos district attorney.
