Live to Dance's Paula Abdul Admits Dislike for Judging

Paula Abdul Paula Abdul has become a hugely popular household name across the United States and many other countries over recent years following her stint on the hit talent show American Idol where she was one of the judges that was responsible for making or breaking the dreams of young hopefuls who were reaching for the stars.

Paula, who is promoting her new show Live to Dance, sat on the panel with other members of musical judging 'royalty' including Randy Jackson, Kara Dioguardi, and the Mr Nasty of music, Simon Cowell.

Between them the judges gave their opinion on those that dared to audition, telling them exactly what they thought of their musical abilities, and deciding whether or not the act would get any closer to the career and contract of a lifetime.

However, despite her years on American Idol Paula Abdul has admitted in a recent interview that she feels uncomfortable judging the talents of others and that she doesn't feel as though she is worthy to judge and criticise the talents of young people.

In the interview Abdul said: "I became a famous judge on American Idol, but I'd always be [saying], 'Who am I to judge?"

She also said that Simon Cowell was often very harsh and critical with some of the talent, and the only way to counteract this was to give the contestants as much support as possible.

She said: "I never looked at myself as a judge. I represented hope and keeping your dream alive. [Cowell] represented the intensity of how difficult and hard this business is. You have to have both."

The season premiere of 'Live to Dance" airs January 4th on CBS at 8pm.
