Lindsay Lohan Suspected Of Lying To Police (Again)

Seriously, Lindsay? The police want to chat with you again? That's twice this week, and it's only Tuesday. Who's your manager these days, DMX?

The sun rose in the East today on a hot day in Phoenix that ends in "Y," so it follows suit that Lindsay Lohan has a date to chat with law enforcement. TMZ reported Tuesday that the star of Bret Easton Ellis' "The Canyons" and Lifetime's upcoming Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick" that Santa Monica, Calif. detectives have an inkling Lohan told a fib or two following her June car accident on California's Pacific Coast Highway.

Discrepencies a-plenty showed up in Lohan's and witnesses' accounts of the accident, in which the actress' rented Porsche slammed into the back of a big rig. At first, Lohan claimed it wasn't her but her assistant that was behind the wheel. She then claimed that the Porsche's brakes had failed just as the truck was cutting the vehicle off in traffic. The truck's driver then claimed the star's entourage quickly started trying to pay him and witnesses off before authorities could arrive.

Then came word that California's uncrowned Under-the-Influence-Driver-of-the-Decade had a clear water bottle - rumored to have contained vodka - stashed in the trunk.

Police are still trying to sort it all out, and are in fact looking at charging Lohan with lying to police concerning whether or not she was driving at the time. Recently released from formal probation for previous DUI infractions, Lohan could be looking at a year in jail if convicted. Then again, California legal system-time and regular-people time requires conversion akin to dog-years-to-human-years. So "one year" in Lohan's realm apparently passes in a couple hours of regular-people time. Los Angeles County prosecutors are reportedly looking into whether or not the incident constitutes a theft-probation infraction.

As it stands, she's also a suspect in the LAPD's eyes in the theft of $100,000 worth of sunglasses and jewelry from a Hollywood Hills home recently.
