Lindsay Lohan NOT Presenting David Letterman's 'Late Show' Top Ten Thursday Night

Lindsay Lohan NOT Presenting David Letterman's 'Late Show' Top Ten Thursday Night It seems that the late night jokester was the butt of the joke this time.

David Letterman and his people have been advertising the fact that Lindsay Lohan was going to be on Thursday’s show and deliver the Top Ten List. The only problem – Lohan is not going to be in New York. Her people didn’t even talk to his people about appearing on the show. The whole thing was a farce from the beginning!

Someone from Letterman’s staff is probably getting their butt chewed out over this one. Information does not appear to have been verified or the proper channels followed when booking “Lohan’s” appearance. The person who called in only pretended to be one of Lohan’s people.

From Reuters:

"It would have been the first TV appearance by the 'Mean Girls' actress since she was charged last week with stealing a $2,500 gold necklace days after leaving her fifth stint in rehab in three years. But a spokesman for the show's production company Worldwide pants said on Wednesday that Lohan would not be appearing."

"'We made a mistake. Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay's reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear,' spokesman Tom Keaney said in a statement."

Ouch. Do you think someone was put up to the joke on purpose?  There haven't been too many TV hoaxes for a few years, since Howard Stern first encouraged the practice back in the 1990's. Are pranks coming back in style?
