Lindsay, You're Fired: Lohan Loses Gotti Role

The upcoming movie about the Gotti family entitled "Gotti: Three Generations," currently in development, is having some problems keeping people on board. Just the other day, director Nick Cassavetes dropped out of the production.

Now Lindsay Lohan, who was up for the role of Victoria Gotti, is officially out as well. It's a surprise, as Lohan even showed up for a press conference with the producer and John Travolta just the other day.

So why was Lindsay booted from the film? Was it because of her court case, in which she's being accused of theft? Is it her general lack of reliability when it comes to staying out of jail or rehab?

Apparently not: word is that Lindsay and her management team were so tough to negotiate with that the talks fell through. It could be that Lohan's price was just too high.

After all, the girl wants to be known as just "Lindsay," so maybe a diva personality is in the works. In any case, producer Marc Fiore specifically said that Lindsay's court case was not the reason.

John Travolta, who is still attached to play the lead in "Gotti: Three Generations" was actually pulling for Lindsay to get the role: "I always thought she was gorgeous and talented," he admitted.

Will Lindsay ever make a comeback? If people are going to continue to take risks with her and cast her despite her legal and substance abuse problems, she's at least going to have to come at a discount. It seems that she's not willing to do that.

What do you think? Does Lindsay deserve another chance?
