Life or Death for Amy Winehouse: Doctors Warn Singer of Sobriety Issues

Amy Winehouse may be saying “yes-yes-yes” to sobriety.

Sources say Winehouse is facing her new reality after having checked into a rehab facility because she missed the premiere of her director boyfriend Reg Travis' movie, “Screwed.”  Winehouse was unable to attend due to her excessive drinking.

Doctors treating the singer are cracking down on Winehouse, according to The Sun. It’s a severe situation, but Winehouse – who has a history of drug addiction - was there on her own accord, a source says.

“(She) wants to sort herself out,” the source revealed, noting that her boyfriend and father Mitch have been by her side at the London facility.

Winehouse's spokesperson said that the rehab stint was prompted by "doctor's advice" as she has scheduled a tour of Europe this summer.

In an official statment, he said "Amy has embarked on a treatment programme at the Priory Clinic. She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment."

According to reports, doctors had told the "Back to Black" singer that it (sobriety) was a matter of life or death. Winehouse, who received treatment at the same facility in 2007 and 2009, was seen purchasing a small bottle of vodka and knocking it back before entering the facility.
