Leonard Nimoy to Voice Sentinel Prime in 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' (Plus, Plot Details!)

Just the other day we heard that Geoffrey Rush would be joining the cast of "Green Lantern" as the voice of a CGI character. Yesterday brought yet another story of a veteran actor voice casting as Leonard Nimoy has been confirmed for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

The "Star Trek" alum will voice Sentinel Prime, the predecessor of Optimus Prime. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sentinel Prime is brought to Earth in "Dark of the Moon" and takes the form of a fire truck.

This actually isn't the first time Nimoy has voiced a giant robot for a Transformers movie: Nimoy provided the voice for Galvatron in the 1986 animated film "Transformers: The Movie."

Nimoy should fit right in with the "Transformers" voice cast, which includes perennial Optimus Prime voicer Peter Cullen, and Hugo Weaving as the villainous Megatron. The rest of the cast includes Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey, and Rosie Huntington-Whitley, who is replacing the kinda-fired Megan Fox.
