Leighton Meester Brings Color to 'Gossip Girl' Set

Leighton Meester Brings Color to 'Gossip Girl' Set It's summer in the city and Leighton Meester's Blair Waldorf is looking pretty. "Gossip Girl" began filming it's fifth season this Thursday in New York City and Meester was photographed in flowery attire in front of the Museum of Natural History.

Striding beside the ultimate Queen B is French actress Roxane Mesquida, who will play the sister of Blair's new royal beau Prince Louis. Despite the fact that the two look chummy in pictures, Mesquida's character will butt heads with Blair over her disapproval of the upcoming nuptials.

In the latest issue of BE Magazine, Mesquida described her character as "very mean", which frankly is the description of 90% of the characters on "Gossip Girl".

Blair's lemon-toned look was perfectly polished and Waldorf-preppy, while also being a great flirty summer look. It's been too long since we've all had the sartorial stylings of Blair Waldorf to obsess over.

On Friday, Meester showed up to set in a beautiful skin tone cream look, a complete 180 from the bright and brassy look she sported the day before.

Prior to the start of "Gossip Girl" filming in its New York CIty home, Meester was on the road promoting her new movie "Monte Carlo". The film also stars Meester's former "Gossip Girl" cast mate Katie Cassidy and Disney star Selena Gomez. The movie is about a case of mistaken identity in the titular city, which is also ironically (or maybe product-placement-y?) the home of Blair's future husband Prince Louis.

In a recent interview with MTV News promoting the movie, Meester talked a bit about the influence "Gossip Girl" has had on her personal style.

"'Gossip Girl has absolutely changed my style. And living in New York I've become more brave and aware of fashion."

What do you think of Blair's new looks for season five? Do you love the sorbet look as much as I do?
