Lea Michele Tweets Tribute One Year After Cory Monteith's Death: 'We Hold You In Our Hearts' Today was a bittersweet day for the "Glee" family.

One year ago, on July 13, 2013, "Glee" star Cory Monteith died of a drug overdose in Vancouver. The tragedy sent shockwaves through the entire entertainment industry, as well as through the community of "Glee" fans.

Today, Lea Michele and other members of the "Glee" family paid tribute to the loss of Monteith.

"We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile," Michele wrote in a tweet, which co-star Chris Colfer retweeted. "We will love you and miss you always." She also posted a photo of her and her former boyfriend on Instagram.

Ryan Murphy, the series creator of "Glee," kept it simple in his tribute: He tweeted, "Miss you," along with a photo that read, "Cory Monteith, 1982-2013."

Darren Criss, who joined the show after the first season, posted another photo of Monteith to Instagram, showing the actor filming a scene as seen through a viewing monitor. "He was a wonderful guy," Criss wrote. "Thanks for all the good times, pal. Miss ya."
