Lea Michele Opens up to Teen Vogue About the Death of Cory Monteith

Lea Michele Opens up to Teen Vogue About the Death of Cory Monteith Lea Michele has had a rollercoaster few months... in July she lost boyfriend Cory Monteith, found dead in a Vancouver hotel room after mixing heroin and alcohol.

This year brings happier news... The "Glee" star is releasing her first pop album.

Michele reunited with fellow "Glee" actor and friend Jonathan Gross for an interview in Teen Vogue to discuss her popstar debut. She also opens up about how she is surviving the death of Monteith.

"I feel like the world has been compassionately watching to see how you would react to what happened," Groff said. "And across the board, you've presented yourself in such a classy way. You really are the quintessential role model. And as your friend, watching you go through what you went through, I saw you exhibit so much strength. Where do you think that strength comes from? I can't comprehend it."

Michele answered, "I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now. There's just something about knowing he's watching everything I'm going and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him. I also have a safety net below me - If I fall or it's too much, my friends and family will be there to catch me."

Last weekend, Monteith was honored at the 2014 Grammy Awards within a memoriam honoring celebrities who passed in 2013. However, his last name was notably misspelled as "Montieth."
