Laura Prepon Leaves 'Orange is the New Black'

Just when you were getting excited about the second season of "Orange is the New Black," here comes the news that one of the show's central characters will only be on board for a few more episodes.
Laura Prepon, who plays Piper's sometimes lover Alex, will not be a regular in the series' second season, and she'll only be around long enough to tie up the character's story arc.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prepon will leave the show, but no one involved has made it clear whether the decision came at the hands of the producers or the actress herself.
To this point, casting news for the series' second season had been entirely positive. Kate Mulgrew was confirmed as a returning regular, and Taryn Manning, Danielle Brooks and Uzo Aduba were all promoted from recurring characters to regulars. In addition, Lorraine Toussaint was added as a recurring cast member.
