LaToya Jackson: Brother Jermaine And Whitney Houston Had Affair
by Sean ComerLaToya Jackson is further fueling rumors that the late Whitney Houston had a fling with her brother Jermaine during the mid-1980s.
LaToya claimed during a chat on Monday's "The Talk" that her brother has admitted a tryst between himself and Houston, with The (U.K.) Sun providing further alleged details. The two met when Jermaine produced Houston before her fame escalated. At the time, he was still married to Hazel Gordy, daughter of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.
The Sun goes so far as to claim that the pair's alleged one-year affair inspired Houston's own love-with-a-married-man ballad "Saving All My Love For You" as a tribute to her supposed secret lover. The rumored torch for Jermaine ran so deep, The Sun continues, that it's no accident the music video's male lead strikingly resembles him. The two remained close even after their affair ended, complete with Jermaine comforting Whitney following the death of his brother Michael - supposedly one of the few who knew about the affair, and who disapproved of it.
The relationship ended - and "Saving All My Love For You" was born - when Jermaine wouldn't leave his wife and Houston couldn't stand it, claims an unnamed source. Jermaine allegedly alluded to the relationship through last year's tell-all about his late brother, You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through A Brother's Eyes.
The Sun goes on to claim that Jermaine was devastated by Houston's death Feb. 11, but couldn't bring himself to attend her funeral in Newark, NJ.
Watch the clip here, but notice how oddly giggly LaToya looks while discussing such a seemingly touchy subject. "He did have a relationship, but it was with ['The Talk' co-host Sharon Osbourne]," she quipped, followed by laughter. Is it just me, or is this a suspect tone for discussing a deceased woman's alleged affair with a married man?
