'Late Late Show' Chooses Craig Ferguson's Replacement (Report)
by Andy NeuenschwanderDoes "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" finally have a replacement?
Speculation has been running wild ever since CBS announced that Ferguson would be leaving his post as the host of the "Late Late Show" as part of the network's late-night shakeup sparked by David Letterman's retirement.
A number of different names were mentioned, but the one that media outlets now believe is the official replacement wasn't talked about much, if at all: The Wrap is reporting that James Corden is the new host.
If you're American, you've probably never heard of James Corden. Don't feel bad about it; the British actor and comedian hasn't made much of a name for himself this side of the pond yet. But in Britain, Corden is a big deal, having created the comedy "Gavin & Stacey" and having won a Tony Award for his performance in "One Man, Two Guvnors."
For American audiences, some might know Corden as one of the stars of "The Wrong Mans," one of Hulu's recent attempts at an original series. Though "Wrong Mans" was generally well reviewed, it didn't become a big hit for the streamer the way that "Orange Is the New Black" did for Netflix.
If the rumors prove true, Corden would be the youngest of the late-night hosts on network shows at age 35.
