That drought ends today, with Columbia's teaser for the Colin Farrell thrill ride's April 1 debut trailer.
Reportedly based more closely upon the source-material Phillip K. Dick short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale than Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 original film, it's the story of futuristic everyman Douglas Quaid (originally Schwarzenegger, now Farrell.) He just wants a respite from the horror of coming home and going to bed nightly with Kate Beckinsale, so he hires a company that can turn his dreams into memories.
Of course, it all goes wrong and he ends up a wanted man cast into murder, political intrigue and a race for his life except a political rebel played by Jessica Biel and her boss, Bill Nighy. Bryan Cranston plays the corrupt Chancelor Cohaagen, who wants him dead. Ultimately, Quaid ends up completely unsure what's real and what's just a product of his mind.
Directed by "Underworld" director Len Wiseman, "Total Recall" blasts into theaters Aug. 3.
