Larry King: the Newest 'Daily Show' Correspondent?

Larry King: the Newest 'Daily Show' Correspondent? "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" has been a proving ground for a number of talented comedians and actors over the years, with performers like Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Ed Helms, and Lewis Black. Now, sources are saying that Larry King might be the newest name to join the "Daily Show" roster.

A source told The Hollywood Reporter that King is in early talks to appear as a correspondent on "The Daily Show" just a few months after stepping down from his long-running talk show.

When Larry King left TV, Jon Stewart was quoted as saying, "There's not enough Larry on TV."

But will Larry have a regular gig? It's hard to imagine the 77-year-old King appearing on the show every day, and according to the inside sources, that's not likely to happen.

If King ends up  as a "Daily Show" correspondent, he will appear only once in a while in his own segment, much like contributors Lewis Black, John Hodgman, and Kristin Schaal.

If the idea of King doing comedy seems like it's coming out of left field, that's because it is: King is also planning a comedy tour with little prior stand-up experience. But King isn't fazed: "I'm funny," he said, "I'm going to do stand-up. That's what I love."
