Larry David Cast as a Nun in 'The Three Stooges'

There's creative casting, and then there's this: Larry David will be playing Mother Mengele in "The Three Stooges." Yes, that means a Jewish man will be playing a Catholic nun. Comedy gold!

Larry David is a co-creator of "Seinfeld" and the star of the HBO comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm." The success and overall hilariousness of "Curb" has really raised David's profile over the past five or so years, and he has since starred in a Woody Allen film ("Whatever Works").

David's role in "The Three Stooges" is that of Mother Mengele, the nun in charge of the orphanage where the titular stooges grow up. That undoubtedly means that David is set to be playing the part of a very exasperated nun, as exasperation is generally the state assigned to characters that support the Three Stooges.

This news means that the current cast of the upcoming movie includes Larry David, "Glee" star Jane Lynch as Mother Superior, Sean Hayes as Larry, Will Sasso as Curly, and Chris Diamantopoulos (who is still technically in negotiations) as Moe. So far, that's a pretty solid cast! Of course, comedy begins with good writing, but as long as that isnt' totally messed up these guys should be able to fill in the gaps.
