Will Lamar Odom Trade Impact 'Khloe & Lamar' Shooting?

Will Lamar Odom Trade Impact 'Khloe & Lamar' Shooting? HBO's "24/7" specials before major boxing bouts, the UFC's flagship "The Ultimate Fighter" and the car-wreck that is the various "Wives" series on VH1 aside, it isn't often that big sports news impacts reality television.

In this case, it could be quite the shift.

The NBA has confirmed that Lakers forward Lamar Odom's trade to the Dallas Mavericks is indeed a done-deal. It's really not that much closer than where the couple had initially thought they'd be moving: Odom was originally to be dealt to the New Orleans Hornets as part of a three-team deal that also involved Lakers teammate Pau Gasol and superstar free-agent-to-be New Orleans guard Chris Paul.

So how does this impact Odom's VH1 reality show alongside wife Khloe Kardashian, "Khloe & Lamar?" Well, for starters, Entertainment Weekly reports that Kardashian tweeted in the trade's wake that she'll be bouncing between Dallas and Los Angeles as much as she can. But with production ongoing as we speak for the coming season of "Khloe & Lamar" and that season to probably be focused upon fallout from the move, E! brass have kept tight-lipped as yet about whether they'll continue the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" spin-off after this year.

Not that this is something anybody should be hoping will happen, but at least if the couple implodes under the long-distance relationship, we could devote a show to what goes wrong when a Kardashian dates a basketball player featuring Khloe and Kim.

It could be called "Khloe And Kim Take The Court."

Sorry. If I get the bad ideas out of the way first, it frees me up for the good ones.

Actually, who knows? Dallas-Fort Worth is a world apart from Los Angeles. There could be some good, "The Simple Life"-style fun to be had with seeing Khloe off the West Coast, out of her element, and right into the southern Midwest. Still, if the travel puts a strain on her marriage during this season, she may want to take a cue from how Hulk Hogan's life imploded in the wake of VH1's "Hogan Knows Best" and just can the series, if she values a lasting marriage instead.

Hmm. Lasting marriages among the Kardashians? Yeah, maybe not the best of subjects....
