Lady Gaga Won't Share Super Bowl Stage with Beyonce

Lady Gaga put to rest rumors that Beyonce would be joining her on stage at Sunday's Super Bowl in Houston. Queen Bey has a tendency to show up at Super Bowl halftime shows even when she's not expected, but Gaga insists that's not going to be the case this year, even though the game is in Bey's hometown.

CBS News reports that Gaga has expressed admiration for Beyonce, but she said enquivocally that Beyonce would not be coming on stage. Rumors of a possible guest appearance started circulating earlier this week with the posting of a photo on Gaga's Instagram account. The photo showed Gaga basking on a patio with the caption "Houston, you are beautiful" followed by a bee emoji.

Fans inferred that the emoji referred to Beyonce, and that meant, of course, that Bey would participate in the halftime show. It was a bold and questionable leap of logic, and Gaga now assures us that it's not true.

She did admit, though, that 90-year-old crooner Toney Bennett will be joining her on stage at halftime. She also says that we should not expect a wardrobe malfunction like the one Janet Jackson suffered the last time the Super Bowl was in Houston, something that might come as a bit of a disappointment for fans of the often scantily clad Gaga.
