Lady Gaga Guest Starring on 'The Simpsons'

Lady Gaga Guest Starring on 'The Simpsons' It was inevitable, really. Lady Gaga has recorded the voice-overs for an upcoming appearance on "The Simpsons."

In an upcoming episode of the popular Fox animated series, Lady Gaga "makes a pit stop in Springfield after learning that it’s teeming with low self-esteem, and winds up trying to cheer up a dejected Lisa through the power of speech, song, and a flash mob," according to EW.

Apparently she "sports a giant flame-shooting bustier, ample wardrobe changes," and even engages in a little hot girl-on-animated-girl action with blue-haired vixen Marge.

Despite performing in everything from a meat dress to an egg, even singing topless in a recent VMA promo, Gaga said she found the voiceover performances "nerve-wracking."

“I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and the characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor,” she told EW.

"The Simpsons" so frequently features guest stars that it's almost become a rite of passage for pop icons. Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Sting, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the Smashing Pumpkins have all played themselves on the show at one time or another.

“Since the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she’s it,” said series creator Matt Groening.

Lady Gaga performs at the MTV VMA's this Sunday, August 28th at 9 p.m. EST live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A.
