Lady Gaga Calls Lawsuit Against Her 'Bullsh**'
by Shannon KeirnanLady Gaga had some choice words in court for the ex-assistant suing her.
Jennifer O’Neill sued the “Machete Kills” actress in 2011 for around 7,000 hours of unpaid overtime after working for her from 2009 to 2011, to the tune of $400,000. O’Neill is demanding the money in addition to the $75,000 salary she received.
In a newly obtained deposition, Gaga called the allegations “bullsh**.”
She said said O'Neill worked for her twice and "knew exactly what she was getting into, and she knew there was no overtime, and I never paid her overtime the first time I hired her, so why would she be paid overtime the second time?"
"She thinks she's just the queen of the universe” Gaga added. “And, you know what, she didn't want to be a slave to one, because in my work and what I do, I'm the queen of the universe every day…. I'm going to give all the money that she wants to my employees that work hard for me now that deserve it," the singer said. “I’m quite wonderful to everybody that works for me, and I am completely aghast to what a disgusting human being that you have become to sue me like this.”
O’Neill claimed that she spent every waking (and not) moment with the singer, and even slept in her bed, which she felt was a job requirement.
"I was by her side virtually 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That includes sleeping in the same bed with her. Because she did not sleep alone."
She said: "I had no privacy, no chance to talk to any family, no chance to talk to any friends, no chance to have sex if I wanted to have sex. There was no chance to do anything.”
Too much for an employee? Gaga sent out word recently that calling O’Neill an assistant are incorrect.
“Everyone's headlines need an updating. ‘former assistant’ is actually ‘my best friend from NY since I was 19.’ Painful stuff,” the singer said.
Does that make it moderately less weird?
