Lady Gaga Attempting to Erase Controversial Music Video From Internet

Lady Gaga has always been known for pushing boundaries and being edgy. But the singer's latest music video even has her wanting all traces of it erased from history.

Gaga's newest single, "Do What U Want," was a controversial one from the moment it came out. Many argued that the lyric, "Do what you want with my body" made some risky implications about sexual consent that could be misconstrued by young audiences, helping to perpetuate rape culture and poor education about consent.

So, when it turned out what the music video for "Do What U Want" features Lady Gaga passed out on a doctor's table whereafter a bunch of people party around her and touch her while she's passed out, it wasn't very well received.

Add to that the fact that the video has R. Kelly in it and was directed by Terry Richardson, and you have a series of decisions so poorly made that it's almost comical.

You see, R. Kelly was tried on sexual assault charges when he was accused of having sex with (and urinating on) a minor. He was acquitted. More recently, Richardson has started facing multiple accusations of sexual assault from models who worked with him at one point or another.

So, what we have here is a music video with lyrics that imply a lack of consent and visuals that imply the molestation of a passed out woman, starring two alleged sex offenders. It's no wonder a source called the video "literally an ad for rape."

The full video never saw the light of day, as Gaga was at least smart enough to realize that the video shouldn't be released with accusations flying against Richardson. However, TMZ got their hands on some leaked footage and put a cut-down version on their site.

Buzzfeed embedded the video and reportedly received a request from the Internation Federation of Phonographic Industry requesting the removal of the video, implying that Gaga might be angling to get TMZ's 30-second video off the web entirely.

Or maybe, maybe she should have thought a little harder about what she was doing before she decided to capitalize off of controversy for the sake of publicity.
