Kurt Sutter Casts 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'True Blood' Alumni in New Series 'Bastard Executioner'

When "Sons of Anarchy" ended, fans of the show were left with a television void. Now, FX hopes to fill that void with a new show from Kurt Sutter and a cast with a familiar face or two.
Sutter and FX have teamed up for a new period drama, "The Bastard Executioner," which is set to start shooting later this year. The show takes place in feudal England and centers on a former knight under Edward I's charge who, after giving up his life of violence, finds it coming back to haunt him.
The cast, announced today, is likely to bring some delight to fans of "Sons of Anarchy" and "True Blood."
Sutter has cast his wife Katey Sagal, who played the major role of Gemma in "Sons of Anarchy" from the very beginning. Sagal is said to be playing a mystic of some kind by the name of Annora of the Elders. Joining Sagal will be Stephen Moyer, famous for his role as Bill Compton on "True Blood." Moyer will be playing the role of Milus Corbett, a former army marshall.
Newcomer and Australian actor Lee Jones will take on the lead role, and Sutter himself will play the recurring role of a mute and will thus not speak any lines in the show.
The pilot episode will begin filming this year, most likely in Wales where Sutter's team was location scouting not long ago.
